Thanksgiving Flies By Far Too Fast…

It’s such an important day–our national voice raised to tell God how grateful we are for His blessings. America has been so blessed through its centuries-old lifespan and we recognize and tout those blessings far too little. So this season I’m calling Thanksgiving back to take a closer look at what we are so blessed to have received.

I’m grateful for Columbus, who found this continental land mass under the direction of the Spirit of God. He said he was on God’s errand and was directed by Him to find the New World. I believe him.

I’m grateful for the Pilgrims and Puritans who came to a New World to be a light on a hill, who braved starvation, deprivation and discouragement in a wild new land to found a culture based on Christian principles.

I’m grateful for Founding Fathers–men like John and Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Patrick Henry and James Madison–who pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to the creation of the most remarkable governing system in modern history, and who delivered on that promise when duty called.

I’m grateful to General George Washington, who took the struggling Continental Army up against the greatest fighting force in his world–David fighting Goliath–and won.

I’m grateful he never gave up; grateful that his troops stayed in the fight, grateful that Washington called on God and acknowledged His help so freely in the process.

I’m grateful to the wives and children of those who created America–for their support and sacrifices made for freedom. I’m grateful to untold thousands of patriots in the American colonies who stood behind their leaders until freedom won.

I’m grateful to all those who built on the words and actions of our Founders to continue America’s prosperity; who fought against the encroachment of socialism and debauchery through the 200+ years since our founding. They are patriots, too. Their strength and determination to forge new frontiers and hold back tyranny and anarchy gave us a Golden Age that still casts its glow today.

I’m grateful for all those who, today, continue to fight for constitutional principles; who continue to insist that the Rule of Law prevail; who refuse to compromise with those who plan our demise. May they ever be strengthened.

I pledge my support to the continuing battle for freedom. Wherever that battle rages, I plan to be there, heart and soul. I offer my faith, my hope, and my unshaken conviction that America was great, is great, and will remain great. I believe she can still lead the world into new and exciting frontiers. if we maintain our integrity and never lose our courage to do what is right.

I am grateful for the United States of America. May her flag ever wave and her people ever remain free.

God Bless America!

My love of country, family, and life itself led me to do public speaking for the Right to Life movement and into a private study of the morality of public policy. It has been a fascinating journey—one that has left me concerned, yet hopeful, for the future of my country. I remain optimistic about the strength, integrity, and willingness to act of my fellow Americans in the conservative Christian cause.
